CHOICE BOARDS

Due April  27th to May 12th

Students will apply skills learned previously (color theory, elements and principles of art ) to complete at least one chosen activity per week and share a picture in by mail/Facebook for our Digital Art Gallery (Total of 3 artworks). Click on the buttons below to see the entire PDF board and the instructions. There are various levels of skills, challenge your inner artist and have fun!. Use the links provided on the choice boards to access the read aloud books or activities.

GOULD GATOR FLAG

Due April  24th

  1. Students you must listen to the read aloud story on storyline online Snappsy the Alligator, by Julie Falatko. Students you will create a Proud to be Gould Gator flag inspired on the character of the story. Adding a gator image, some Text :Gould Elementary, Gator, and grade 2nd or 3rd grade.You will find below both links to read the books and also how to draw a gator.

RABBIT  COLLAGE:

Due April 17th

​

  1. Draw a contour line drawing of a rabbit face on the bottom of the paper.

  2. Add a circle touching the bottom of the face. Inside the circle add a mouth and nose using curve lines.

  3. Add two curves lines from the snout circle towards the side of the face. Add the eyes on each side of the rabbit face.

  4. Color the background using at least 3 colors or more with lines in any direction (horizontal, Vertical, or diagonal).

  5. On a separate piece of paper draw the rabbit long ears, cut them and collage the rabbit’s ears onto the design overlapping it over the background color. Ears can come off the page.Color the rabbit’s face with your preferred colors

SPRING LANDSCAPE

Due Date April 10th

Draw a spring landscape following the directions posted.

  1. Draw a horizontal line (------) in the middle of the paper. That will be the horizon line.

  2. On the top half draw the sky details: sun, clouds birds, hot air balloons, plane or any other details you wish to add.

  3. On the bottom half draw a house by the horizon line (background).

  4. Draw a small tree a side of the house. Draw a big tree touching the the bottom of the paper (foreground).

  5. Draw a path the using diagonal lines that begin from the house and widens all the way the bottom of the paper / \.

  6. Draw details that depict the Spring season like flowers, animals (bees, rabbits, dogs butterflies), a creek and any other details you might want to add.

  7. Color your drawing completely.

Monster drawings

On Storyline Online listen to the stories: I need my Monster, and Hey That's My Monster by Amanda Noll

Using a pencil and any paper draw a monster. Make the monster body no smaller than the palm of your hand. Use geometric shapes to add details on the monster (triangles, ovals, circles, rectangles, etc). Add ears, horns, eyes, mouth (with teeth) hands, feet and a tail if desired. Add detail to the body as well (stripes, dots, or any lines to create texture to the body). Color your monster with at least two different colors and create a background for it. 

Once your drawing is finalized and colored, upload it on the Facebook Gould Elementary Digital Art Gallery for grade/credit.

Whimsical Cats

This week we will be learning about Artist Laurel Brush and he whimsical Cat designs. Follow the directions given to draw your cat  inspired By laurels birch Using the video Link. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IH-x2vMwu7E

When you finish drawing it add color it. You can draw a different cat every day, or if you like challenges more than one cat in a page.Once your drawings are finalized and colored, upload them on the Facebook Gould Elementary Digital Art Gallery for grade/credit.
