 Due April 27th to May 12th

Students will apply skills learned previously (color theory, elements and principles of art ) to complete at least one chosen activity per week and share a picture in by mail/Facebook for our Digital Art Gallery (Total of 3 artworks). Click on the buttons below to see the entire PDF board and the instructions. There are various levels of skills, challenge your inner artist and have fun!. DRAWING WITH ONE POINT PERSPECTIVE

Due date April 24th

Drawing Cubes in Perspective

Your will learn how to draw a three-dimensional geometric shape: Cube (learned in Math) using one point perspective. Watch The video of the link provided. Once you saw it practice each step showed on the video. You will practice by drawing 3 cubes (two shown plus your own. Remember you always begin with a square and then proyect the lines from each square corners to the vanishing point.Observe in the video a practical application on how to turn the cube  into a building. You are only required to draw the 3 cubes but are welcome to add details to it as shown on the video. Take a picture and submit It

EASTER WEEK COMIC STRIP

Due April 17

Create you own comic Strip. It must show/narrate something what that you did during the Easter week. 

  • Draw 4 or more squares to create the comic strip 

  • Your Characters must be drawn using geometric shapes add some volume to the characters,  NOT STICK FIGURES PEOPLE PLEASE. 

  • Make sure you use 2 or more characters, including yourself.

  • Make sure your dialogues are legible and language appropriate for school.

  • Create a background.

  • Color your comic strip completely.

COMIC STRIP

Due date April 10th

Create your Own Comic Strip


Draw 4 large squares in a blank paper. You can place your squares side by side if you prefer. Every comic strip has a beginning, middle, and end. Follow the instructions above each square and make up your own scenes. Add movement lines and sound effects. Click on the white button below for attached images directions.Do not copy the sample.


  1. Your first panel (square1) might show where the story happens (the setting). It could be a city, a house, and any special location and your character.

  2. Second Panel (square2) could be a close up drawing of one or more characters talking.

  3. Your third panel (square3) can be a picture of all the characters in the scene having a gialogue.

  4. The fourth Panel (square4) could be a surprise or funny ending. Or could say to be continued...so your readers will want to read your next comic strip to find out what happens

4TH AND 5TH SELF PORTRAITS

Self Portraits

Have your students create a self-portrait. First watch the video provided.

Then follow the step-by-step instructions on the video, you can pause it on each step (same steps described below). The step by step written instructions might see overwhelming if you don’t watch the video first, just do one step at the time and try your best!. Using Pencil draw the portrait, add some of your personals characteristics (i.e.curly hair, glasses, etc) . When done with the drawing portion you can trace the pencil drawing with a black marker if desired, then color it with crayons/color pencils. Add a personalized background that depicts your interest and/or character. Once your drawing is finalized and colored, upload it on the Facebook Gould Elementary Digital Art Gallery for grade/credit.

Drawing from Observation

Students will choose any three small objects available at home (i.e. cup, spoon,salt shaker, pencil,pencil sharpener) and place them on top of a table next to each other. Students will observe the shapes of the objects that and draw each one of the the placed objects on a paper with pencil. Students will use the pencil to add value by shading the objects with pencil.  Adding darker shades where the objects appear darker, medium shades and lighter where the objects are reflecting more light.
